After an excellent career as a batsman in Premier and State second XI cricket, Trent turned his hand to coaching at a relatively young age. He has had great success coaching the Gold Coast to Premier cricket titles in Queensland, prior to Queensland Cricket employing him to set up programs in North Queensland, and develop the elite young talent in the region. Now the Talent Manager and head coach for Cricket NT, Trent also was assistant coach of the Australian blind cricket team. In 2025 Trent was appointed as assistant coach to Tim Paine for the Australia A mens team for the series versus Sri Lanka. Great recognition for a young coach on the rise.
