Kane Richardson is a product of the Cricket Australia pathway system, having played for the Australian U19 team at the 2010 Youth World Cup, where he bowled well and top scored in the final.
Kane made his debut for Australia in an ODI against Sri Lanka in January 2013. He has since become a regular for Australia in short form cricket, played numerous seasons in the IPL, and is sought after around the world for his abilities. Kane plays all three formats of the game well and signed a five-year deal to play Big Bash League cricket for the Melbourne Renegades from the 2017/18 season. This Renegades deal has been extended, and now takes Kane thru till the end of the 2024/25 Season. Kane has also made his debut in cricket’s latest format, ‘The Hundred’ in the UK, playing for the Birmingham Phoenix.
